TURKMEN-IRANIAN EDUCATIONAL RELATIONS: COOPERATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS IS DEVELOPING
43On August 28, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov went on a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran and held talks with President Masoud Pezeshkian and the Spiritual Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei. Within the framework of this visit, it is particularly gratifying to discuss cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, and to present the book "Worshippimg Mother – Worshipping a sacred person" translated into Persian to the National Leader of the Turkmen people by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
With the efforts of the two countries’ honorable heads, the Turkmen-Iranian scientific-educational relations are constantly being developed in accordance with the requirements of the present time. During the two-day working visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Islamic Republic of Iran on May 30-31, 2023, "Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on cooperation in the field of education" was signed between the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University (Turkmenistan) and Gurgen University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (the Islamic Republic of Iran). Also, on March 27, 2018, the "Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on cooperation in the field of science and education between S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University (Turkmenistan) and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (Islamic Republic of Iran)" was adopted.
According to them, wide opportunities are opened up for cooperation in various fields, such as organizing and conducting industrial internships in accordance with students' professional fields, conducting of joint scientific research in areas of mutual interest; exchanging of business experience in the areas of using innovative methods and technologies in passing training courses and conducting scientific research, as well as improving educational and scientific work; exchanging of teachers, researchers and students; attracting professors and scientific workers to conduct general trainings, scientific conferences, symposia, professional trainings; jointly publishing scientific articles, monographs, collections of scientific works, educational manuals in the foundations of higher education institutions and scientific centers.
As far as we know, on October 13, 2022, at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University, talks were held with the head of the Gurgen University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources on cooperation in the field of education.
From November 27 to December 1, 2023, representatives of the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University, at the invitation of the Gurgen University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources of the Islamic Republic of Iran, went on a business trip to the city of Gurgen, Gulustan province of the neighboring country. During the working visit, they visited the Gurgen University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and held a meeting with the heads of the higher education institution and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran. There, they exchanged views on friendly-fraternal relations between the two countries, the directions of implementation of the memorandum signed between the two higher education institutions. It was emphasized that with the efforts of the honorable Heads of State of the two countries, the Turkmen-Iranian scientific-educational relations are constantly being developed in accordance with the requirements of the present time.
Within the framework of the Memorandum on educational, scientific and cultural cooperation between S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University and Gurgen University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, an ideas was exchanged on exchange of professors and students, use of innovative methods and technologies in conducting training sessions and conducting scientific research and the development of cooperation in the field of exchange of experience in the areas of improvement of educational and scientific work.
They participated in the exhibition dedicated to the achievements in science and education, agriculture, and were introduced to the research works of the university's professors and students, as well as the products produced by the country's entrepreneurs. Acquaintance with the university's faculties and departments, laboratories, departments, professor-teachers was organized. A visit to the Innovation Center of Gurgen city and meetings were held with scientists and representatives of local authorities.
Students of higher educational institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran actively participate in competitions held in the country, including in our university. In June of this year, the teacher of Gurgen University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Dr. Mousavi, participated in the opening ceremony of the international scientific-design competition "The role of youth in achieving the goals of sustainable development" organized by our university and delivered a congratulatory speech. Atashpaz Behnaz, a student of this higher education institution, won the 2nd prize in the competition.
Also, within the framework of the visit, they visited the agricultural fields, nurseries, greenhouses, and laboratories of the region and got acquainted with the experiences. We would like to express our gratitude to our Hero Arkadag, Arkadag Hero Serdar, for the wide opportunities created for the development of international cooperation in the field of science. We wish them strong health, long life and great success in all their undertakings.
