SCIENTIFIC-PRACTICAL CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO THE INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF PEACE AND TRUST
5On August 29, 2025, on the occasion of the Day of Knowledge and Students, Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov hosted a scientific-practical conference of professors, postgraduates, specialists, and students under the theme “International Year of Peace and Trust”.
At the plenary session, special attention was given to the importance of events held in Turkmenistan on the occasion of the International Year of Peace and Trust, the Day of Knowledge and Students, and the beginning of the 2025–2026 academic year, including the opening of new educational institutions and the outcomes of educational reforms. The speakers emphasized that knowledge is a source of renewal, development, and creativity, and expressed sincere wishes of health, longevity, and success to Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero-Serdar, whose great efforts contribute to the prosperity of our Homeland and raise the national education system to new, higher levels.
Reports were presented on national educational reforms, achievements in the country’s education system, and the role of the works of Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero-Serdar as a source of science, education, and upbringing. The significance of establishing Turkmenistan’s first non-state higher education institution — the International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs — was highlighted. Discussions also covered innovations in agriculture and water management, the sustainable development goal of providing inclusive and equitable quality education, and the interconnection of science, education, and production.
The speeches also reflected on the exemplary activities of the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the outcomes of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, and the historic significance of the Avaza Programme of Action and the Avaza Political Declaration.
The conference continued with a cultural program featuring performances by the amateur art groups of the university’s “Altyn Asyr” cultural center, which embodied the spirit of the Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State and praised modern educational reforms.
The conference then proceeded in sectional sessions:
• “Directions for the Development of Education in the Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State,”
• “Digital Education — A Starting Point for Progress,”
• “Knowledge-Based and Science-Driven Development in the Agricultural Sector,”
• “The Role of Natural and Exact Sciences in the Innovative Development of Turkmenistan.”
These sessions discussed the main objectives of the “Concept for Improving the Methodology of Teaching General Education Programs in Turkmenistan until 2028,” the “Strategy for the Development of Science in Turkmenistan for 2024–2052,” the “State Program for the Comprehensive Development of Biotechnology in Turkmenistan for 2024–2028,” and other important documents. Speakers also highlighted priority areas in education set forth in the “Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2022–2028,” achievements in implementing the “Concept of Digital Education Development in Turkmenistan,” the opportunities of digital education systems, and science-based progress in the agro-industrial complex.
